In the far far future, technology has advanced enough so that it no longer matters what a spaceship looks like. You can have a space express service with a ship that looks like a 19th century train. Imagine where you can go and what adventures you can have. We follow Tetsuro as he goes on these adventures.

Episode 1: Departure Ballad Runtime: 25 minutes Air Date: 1978-09-14 On the road to Megalopolis, Tetsuro is encountered by Count Mecha and watches as his mother is killed. Ironically, he is rescued by a woman who looks remarkably like his mother, and they set off on a journey on the Galaxy Express 999.
