A 2D theatrical short film opened alongside the Gekijouban Pocket Monsters: Best Wishes - Kyurem vs Seikenshi Keldeo film. Meloetta no Kirakira Recital featured only Pokemon creatures, and revolved around the extremely rare telekinetic Pokemon Meloetta. The film also co-stard Pikachu, Oshawott, Axew, Totodile, Chikorita, Torchic, and Piplup, among other popular Pokemon creatures.
