"It was a time of peace, during the rule of Shogun-sama. However, conflict was brewing between two powerful factions in the town of Edo. They were watching one another, and cutting glares. The fighting marks the official beginning..." — narration Chizuru-hime has to study for a level one English proficiency exam, and since sweets would get in the way thereof, the Lord forbade sweets in town by law. This does not dissuade Asako from running down streets stumbling into the unwary, depriving them of their coin while at it, and handing out the latest info on Edo's black market sweets shop. Shizuku (Ane-san), head of the Mitzutani Group's temple school is a teacher trying to establish some form of academia in town. Even though she has the Lord's formal permission (and also the support of Chizuru-hime) to do so, she still feels — since the area is under the jurisdiction of the Yoshida Group — that she should inform its lonely leader Hurunosuke of her plans. But so far he has eluded her.
