In the early summer of 2015 Tachikawa, a second metropolis of Tokyo, is populated by people known as Gatchaman, who are warriors that fight in special reinforced suits powered by the manifestation of spiritual powers of living beings called NOTE. A council has recruited individuals with latent powers to help fight alien criminals. In recent years, the council has appointed the Gatchaman Crew (G-Crew) to fight the mysterious entity known as MESS. () One day the altruistic school girl Ichinose Hajime encounters the deity-like being called J.J. Robinson, who unlocks her dormant powers, turning her into the latest Gatchaman. The energetic Hajime is thrilled, but not particularly awed by this sudden development. Visiting the headquarters she meets the rest of the G-Crew: the small panda-like being and leader Paiman, fellow classmate Tachibana Sugane, moody Miya Utsu-tsu, flamboyant O.D., and laid-back Hibiki Jou. Immediately involved in having to defeat MESS beings, Hajime uses her unorthodox methods to end all hostilities between the MESS and humanity, much to the bewilderment of the other G-Crew members. But a much more dangerous enemy rears its head: Berg Katze, as the being calls itself, is feared by Paiman and O.D., the senior members of the G-Crew, for this alien has thus far wiped out all civilizations on the planets it has previously visited. This puts Earth and humanity in grave peril... — written by foo2
