All the students with "negative karma" or misfortune seem to have been gathered in class 1-7 at the elite school of the Tennomifune Academy. Since, as it turns out, the classes 1-(1-3) specialize in academics, and the classes 1-(4-6) in sports, this leaves class 7 with only one goal: happiness. Hibarigaoka Ruri, a level-headed high school student in this special class, meets the unlucky yet energetic Hanakoizumi An and the frail Kumegawa Botan on her first day of school. Together with the emotionally stunted Ekoda Ren, and the often spatially disoriented Hagyuu Hibiki, they try to find a way to turn their school life into a happy one.
