Kowata Makoto, a 15-year-old witch from Yokohama, moves to Aomori, in the verdant north of Japan, to live with her relatives, Kuramoto Kei and Chinatsu, as part of her training. As she gets used to her new surroundings with her black cat Chito, her relatives and the new friends she makes are introduced to the customs and peculiarities of witchcraft.

Episode 3: Lessons in Farming and Magic

As part of witch training, Makoto borrows some land from the Kuramoto family to farm vegetables. The land hadn't been maintained and was full of weeds, so with Chinatsu and Kei's help, she cultivates the land.
One day, a mysterious lady pays a visit. It turns out to be Makoto's sister, Akane, who is traveling around the world. Akane discovers that Makoto isn't using any spells, so she teaches her a simple spell to practice.
